Static Electricity with Balloons

Static electricity happens when positive and negative charges are no longer in balance. We learned you can make electricity just by rubbing objects against each other. When we rubbed our balloons on our hair, electrons traveled from our hair to the balloon, becoming unbalanced. It was rather hair-raising!
