Pumpkin Activities and Olden Days Toys

Third grade math using pumpkin questions: Estimating and counting seeds, hypothesizing--Will our pumpkin sink or float? What is the circumference in centimeters? Estimate and real answer. How many centimeters long is our longest seed? Do larger pumpkins have more seeds or just larger seeds? 

What we learned: All pumpkins float. Most pumpkins have an odd number of lines. Most larger pumpkins have more seeds and larger seeds!! All the seeds taste good toasted with oil and salt!

Jack o lanterns are fun to carve!
